Opportunities to Serve in the Community

As a church, we want to be known for our extraordinary generosity—with both our time and money—toward those in our local community. Through our partnerships with wonderful local nonprofits, other local churches, and our church’s initiatives we provide opportunities to meet the real needs of our community as we serve together. This ministry is family friendly, and a great way to introduce your children to service.

The Bridge

The Bridge seeks to connect adult mentors with elementary-age children through a Lunch Buddy program, after-school mentoring, and camps. Lunch buddies meet with a child for lunch once a week for approximately 30 minutes. Training is provided. Flexible or established schedules are recommended.

Topeka North Outreach

Topeka North Outreach provides backpacks filled with food to send with children on weekends, who may not otherwise get food on a regular basis over the weekend. Commitment to this ministry would involve the first Thursday of each month from 6-8 pm at Mathes Learning Center. Great service opportunity for families with children ages 6 and up. (This is only one of many areas of ministry overseen by Topeka North Outreach.)

NET Reach

NET Reach is a ministry of the Topeka Rescue Mission, reaching people in the Hi-Crest neighborhood. Adult mentors are needed to work side-by-side with the community on Taco Tuesdays. Training is provided. Great opportunity for single or married adults. A one year commitment is preferred.
