Light of the World
Light of the World: Part 1 - Hope in the Darkness
There is a part of the Christmas story that is often overlooked because it’s a dangerous, dark, and depressing part of the story and we don’t like dangerous, dark, and depressing at Christmas. But when you look at it from the vantage point of history it’s actually a little… surprising. It helped shine hope in the midst of darkness for thousands of years before the birth of Christ and thousands of years ever since.
Bottom Line: Our hope is not based in what we see but in who God is.
Presents, parties, pastries, pipers piping, poinsettia’s, popcorn, pudding, and pie. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year . . . but not because of all the things associated with the season. In this 4-part series, we’ll be reminded that the Christmas story—like your story—is complicated. But Jesus, the Light of the World, ultimately overcomes the darkness in this world, and in our lives.
