 Grace Point family,

From time to time, we believe it is important that you hear from the Local Board of Administration. Because it has been a while since there has been a church-wide Covid-19 update, and with the Delta variant swirling in our community, we felt this would be a good time to reach out to all of you. We want to be as transparent and concise as possible in our communication regarding Covid-19.

As a board, we’ve wrestled with how to move forward with all the variables our community is dealing with at this point in time. We have come to several conclusions including: Covid-19 is going to be a part of our lives for the foreseeable future, we want in-person gatherings to continue, we recognize our facilities limit how we can socially distance, and finally, we want to be respectful of people's opinions and risk tolerances when it comes to Covid.

With all of this in mind, we are going to continue to provide in-person and online service options. We will not mandate masks or vaccines, but encourage you to make the decision that is best for you and your family in regards to these mitigation strategies. We will also continue to pay attention to local leaders, gather advice from medical professionals in our congregation, and may make changes to our plan as necessary.

We understand this is welcome news for some and disappointing to others. Our desire is to be the kind of church that pursues unity in the essentials; liberty in the non-essentials; and charity in everything else. Thank you for helping us make that a reality.

frequently asked questions

What safety precautions will be in place?

We will be providing hand sanitizing stations throughout the building and sanitizing common spaces between services. Greeters will be at the doors to minimize the number of people who have to touch the handles.

Will there be environments for my kids?

Yes! Our KidsPoint environments are open.

How will Grace Point practice social distancing?

The physical space of our building often limits how we will be able to physically distance from each other, especially in areas like our lobby and our KidsPoint check-in area. To help us in these areas we ask that if you want to come before or stay after service to connect with friends and family, please do that outside the building. We have lots of grassy areas for small groups to congregate including the park and playground.

If you would like to attend in-person, but would like more distance between you and others, we have additional seating in our youth room - Tandem. Greeters and ushers will be happy to help you find that location if you desire.

What if I’m not comfortable coming back?

That is ok! We encourage each person to think about what is best for themselves and their families, and if now is not the right time for your return, we will continue to worship with you in spirit. We will continue to stream our 11 a.m. Sunday services on our website, Facebook and YouTube.

What about masks?

At this time Shawnee County is recommending masks inside buildings. We will not mandate masks or vaccines, but encourage you to do what is best for your family.
