frequently asked questions
What about masks?
On July 6, the Shawnee County Commissioners passed a resolution and order that stated face coverings must be worn in all public and private spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained, beginning Thursday, July 9. Throughout this entire COVID-19 experience, as a church we have determined to follow the guidelines set out by our local officials. This means that you will be required to wear your mask when entering and exiting our building, as well as in the lobby and hallways. However, when you have been seated in one of the worship areas where seating has been socially distanced, and are not crossing paths with others, you may remove your mask if you feel comfortable doing so. Just make sure to put it back on before you leave the worship environment. Shawnee County Mask Order
What safety precautions will be in place?
We will be providing hand sanitizing stations throughout the building and sanitizing common spaces between services. Greeters will be at the doors to minimize the number of people who have to touch the handles. We will not be serving coffee or snacks and will block the water fountains. If you feel you may need water, please bring a bottle from home.
Will there be environments for my kids?
KIDSPOINT IS BACK AUGUST 30TH! Infants will remain with parents for now, but other KidsPoint environments are back in business! If you would like to be added to the KidsPoint email list and be kept up to date by Niki, Julie, & Rhonda, please contact us at 273-4200 or email@example.com.
How will Grace Point practice social distancing?
The physical space of our building often limits how we will be able to physically distance from each other, especially in areas like our lobby and our KidsPoint check-in area. To help us in these areas we ask that if you want to come before or stay after service to connect with friends and family, please do that outside the building. We have lots of grassy areas for small groups to congregate including the park and playground.
In our sanctuary, we will be spreading the rows apart, though they may not be the full 6 feet apart. We are encouraging you to leave at least three chairs between you and the next family unit. We will have additional worship space available in Tandem (the youth room) as well as downstairs in The Fort.
What if I’m not comfortable coming back?
That is ok! We encourage each person to think about what is best for themselves and their families, and if now is not the right time for your return, we will continue to worship with you in spirit. We will continue to stream our 11 a.m. Sunday services on our website, Facebook and YouTube.
